We are a collective from Moscow, ShShSh, about 30 female artists, a circle that mainly exists online. The collective doesn't have clear boundaries or form. Not all of us know each other personally. We don't have common ideology, we love men and mostly everybody else. We join together for projects and in a chat. Our collective grows when one woman brings in another one – and this chain of intuitions shows to be sound enough. There is some sort of encephalitic barrier that creates the pulsating inside and outside. We do experiments by gathering together in pairs or fours, cross breed our practices, and show the results to the people. We do not impose, we do not teach, we open up. We cojoin and explore how our personal practices and ideas influence one another. We do different things but when we work together, we are interested in what is important for women as some kind of commonality. What is womanly – in contemporaneity, for each of us, in relation to oneself, in relation to one another, in relation to everyone. We oftentimes take cliches, or rather archetypes – and explore them, recycle them, as of now, as of what value in might contain and seed.

LAB OF
GENETIC CORRECTION

CROSS-BREEDING
Ira Tsykhanskaya

The main objective of this project was the production of a perfect female totem creature. Cross-breeding, testing and adjusting totem creatures, the artists sought to strengthen the magical properties of the agents of their female imaginary, gathering together the best properties of the best creatures. Each created character was rapidly deteriorating. Whether the fault of the energy flaw, or because of insurmountable genetic faults, this idea was initially doomed to failure.

Maria Kechayeva Ustina Yakovleva Daria Neretina
Masha Kechaeva, Ustina Yakovleva and Daria Neretina have created their works through their experience of practicing daily rituals at home, which when distilled through inner silence and meditative practices, turns into a new symbolic language. The physical characteristics of the materials - texture and form – is the focal point in their work as they draw upon the natural desire to experience the tactility and physiology of objects. They leave

the space for the interpretation, erasing the boundaries between their works and audience.

BURGAN SUPURGI
"Burgan supurgi" it is the name of the exhibition ("tumbleweed" from the Uzbek language) that was born during the journey of artists in Uzbekistan. Movement has become a key impetus in creating the project. Tumbleweed is a steppe shrub driven by winds. It collects fragments

of other plants on its way, increasing in volume. In artists research this image has become a metaphor by Uzbek language, which has undergone significant linguistic changes over the last century.

ALERT
It is an audio-visual project calling to be always on the lookout. This is a topic of
a constant combat readiness, the desire
to defend oneself and to protect the borders. In the center of the hall personal belongings of artists were scattered, scaring the visitors with threatening sounds.

TWINARIUM
What would happen if two girls start living together, if they swap their bodies, places, roles. If two girls of the same height get undressed, or just put next to each other? What associations and prejudice
and stereotypes, imposed by mass media, should come to our mind? Classmates, sisters, girlfriends, twins, lesbians? All this has nothing to do with the power of two. Two girls (basically, no longer girls) stand next to each other. In the first part of their collaboration, the artists work with their corporeality, its doubling, the clash of their images, and the topic of envy, permissiveness and maturation.

AN UNEXPECTED TURN OF EVENTS

For a little bit longer than two weeks lasted the developments of the ShShSh No 5 Experiment. Several vectors of art practices were converging in an improvisational regime, as a process. The artists explored new connections, while discovering possible communications forms on the road. The formal and performing experiments were open to visitors who could become witnesses, observers and participants at every point of the process.

VAPOUR
'But where are those important happenings, the Happenings, the principal summits of one's life path, which make us empty our memory of all the incidental and casual, which make us treat our life as a dead emptiness, as some poisonous vapours consuming our lives to waste? If we look closer, there is no such thing.

Embraced by inspiration, we may feel, here it is, this is what it is, this happens just once in a life time and this is what I have been looking for, but quite soon we realize that it has all gone into vapours. And nothing's left.

And here we are again, emptying our life from the uneasy casualness, from trivial thoughts and repetitive actions. We edit, we cut, we censor until nothing's left.'
